Took a week off because I had stuff to do and because my left leg felt all ****ed up. It might be my ankle. It might be my calf. Not sure. Today it was my calf, but I can still train so whatever. I'm rolling/massaging it as much as possible.

I'm switching to a meet prep template from Mike's Gym as I'm lifting in a meet in like 5 weeks and would like to suck less than I usually do at meets. My goal for the meet is not weight based for now, rather just to make my meet form look more like my training form.

I should max out 1x/week or so, maybe more but I'm too old to max out more than that and not feel like absolute **** 24/7.

Rough session, felt like crap and wanted to quit after every rep.

Was supposed to be 3 sets @105, but there was the return of the lower back pump. Just going to hope that goes away. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears.

70% x 1 set - 80 (only did 1 set. I was supposed to do 3, but I had a weird lower back pump. Odd, but I did have something similar a couple of weeks ago and Martin did mention in his review that he had this after taking that stim as well, I'll have to watch for it.).

Reracking this 14 times was a workout more than the jerks were.

Back Squat
155x5x4 (~74%) - didn't do a 5th set because of lower back pump's return. 

Also, I feel like the outside of my lower left leg/left ankle is still weak/sore and will have to watch it. I have an old basketball injury there and, according to an ortho, no attached ligaments in my left ankle.

Felt better, maybe it has to do with eating ~8lbs of meat over the past 3 days.

85%x1x6 - did 94xfx2 and 90x1x1 instead based on how I was feeling and previous number of max attempts.

Video of Snatches at 90 up to 110 and 3 misses at 120. Everything felt pretty good today as I worked up to my max attempts. I think this is the best my form has ever looked. 

Clean and Jerk 
Max for day - 140 (308.6lbs) (PR)

Video of 140 C+J - I have to fight pretty hard for the clean and the recovery is pretty ugly, but the jerk is ok. First clean over 300#, so that is a milestone, I guess.

Finally got my platform built. Pretty easy, other than having to drive around to get the rubber mat. 






Not very exciting. Didn't realize there is slight angle in the garage, so I will have to put some sort of shim underneath.

Anyway, back lifting after an unplanned week off. Elbow is finally feeling almost 100% (after maybe 5 months?). Therefore I plan to work heavy again.

Just a light day today to get back into things.

345 was my previous 1RM, but chose 355 when I started this cycle because I thought it was closer to my true 1RM. So got a 2x2 at a 1RM PR weight; felt pretty good and makes me feel good for trying a new 1RM on Saturday.

Jerk
85% x 2 x 2 - 255 lbs (115kg)
This looked good and I locked out well, so decided to try heavier as well. Previous PR was 125kg (~275#) (w/ no pressout).

Pretty happy with that, but I still need lots of work on the jerk. With better form, I think I can jerk 150+ relatively soon.
